Fine Hall Library Circulation Policies -- return
Borrowing Privileges
Borrowing privileges are limited to members of the Princeton University community. All others must arrange borrowing privileges through the Princeton University Library Access Office. The loan periods for all items in the Fine Hall Library are described below. Guest borrowers do not have access to Borrow Direct, Ill or Document Delivery. They may print from the Pharos stations with guest codes posted next to the computer at the check out desk.
Fines and Fees
Fine Hall Library does not charge fees for late books or recall fines, but we do charge replacement fees for lost or long overdue items. A staff member of the library must calculate the cost of the replacement which will be th eprice of the book plus shipping plus a $50 processing fee. The patron will receive a bill which can be paid at Fine Hall Library. Questions about fees or fines are to be forwarded to Donna Wolfe. When items that have been marked as lost and have been assigned a replacement fee are returned, the fines and fee will still be on the patron’s account. The patron must speak with a staff person to have fines removed..
Reserve Materials
Reserve materials are available for from 3 hour to 1 week borrowing. They have varying loan periods so check the computer carefully. Reserve materials may be charged over night (unless otherwise noted in the reserve material) at 15 minutes before the library closing; these items will be due within 3 hours of opening the following morning. Faculty teaching courses have the option of limiting reserve materials to "library use only". Permanent reserve books may not leave the library.
